MY STORY

Hi, I’m Mikhail (but I prefer to go by Kelly)! Dogs have always been a part of my life—from growing up with them to volunteering at my local humane society.

Now, I have two of my own: Finn (4 years), a Goldendoodle, and Ginger (5 months), a Labradoodle, both of whom I’ve raised since they were puppies. That means I have firsthand experience with potty training, leash training, and all the patience that comes with raising dogs!

I know the struggle of leaving your dog with a sitter or boarding facility. When I got Finn, my Goldendoodle, four years ago, we tried a cage-free boarding facility. But it was stressful for him—he barely ate or drank, and I had to carry him to the vet, where he was severely dehydrated. After that, leaving him behind was always stressful until I found the perfect sitter. My dog sleeps in bed with me and lays on the couch, so an environment like a boarding facility, which can be overcrowded and noisy, can be traumatic for a dog. I realized that’s not what’s best for him—he does best in a familiar environment where he can get attention. And I’m sure many dogs would prefer to stay in their own home.

I also know how hard it can be when you need to find a place to board a puppy who isn’t fully vaccinated. Most boarding facilities won’t accept them until they’re fully vaccinated, which can add stress for owners. The same goes for dogs that aren't spayed or neutered. That's why watching your dog in the comfort of your home is a win for everybody—it provides peace of mind for you and a more comfortable, low-stress experience for your dog.

The other issue I noticed, even with the best sitters, was that grooming tended to get neglected. We all know doodles need to be brushed frequently, and there's nothing like coming home to a matted dog. That’s when the idea for The Doodle Club was born! While I still love caring for all dogs, I wanted to create a service specifically for doodle parents, ensuring they get the attention and care they deserve.

I’m currently based in the Med Center/Astrodome area of Houston, but I’m happy to travel within the inner loop to care for your pup! We’re regulars at Levy Park and McWilliams Dog Park, and I’ve also fostered with Doodle Dandy Rescue.

Although I can’t board dogs at my home, I’m more than happy to come to you! I provide frequent updates, lots of pictures, and the same level of care I’d want for my dogs. Whether it’s a walk, a drop-in visit, or overnight care, you can rest easy knowing your pup is in loving hands.

Let’s chat—I’d love to meet your furry family member!
